All of the Graduate Gemologists on staff were trained by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). It is extremely important to use a reputable grading system when communicating diamond grades. We believe in the integrity of the GIA diamond grading system. This is the grading scale we use to grade our diamonds. GIA, however, uses the term “synthetic” on their grading reports for lab-grown diamonds (see our post on Synthetics vs. Simulants). It is a confusing term, so for that reason, we generally use International Gemological Institute for our lab-grown diamond grading reports. They use the term Lab-Grown, which is quite clear.
